is a first call Studio Musician, Composer, Producer,& Instrumentalist, one of the most sought after Studio Musicians in Nashville.

B.James' memorable melodic hooks, solid acoustic guitar rhythm parts, & warm, yet bold guitar tones are imprinted on many of the recording Artists you've listened to, and recognize in their hit songs.

The solid & soulful acoustic guitar on Martina McBride's latest CD , "Wake Up Laughing"; the understated , yet integral nylon string guitar refrain on Lee Ann Womack's CMA Award winning "I May Hate Myself in the Morning"; the trademark styling of his acoustic guitar on Kenny Chesney's "The Good Stuff"; and the catchy electric guitar solo on Faith Hill's mega single "'Breathe" , are just a few examples of this guitarist's musicianship, & strong song sensibilities that he has contributed to many artists career recordings.

The Gulf Coast town of Pensacola, FL was the origination point for B.James' early musical influences & experience before he made his nomadic journey to Nashville.

He picked up his first guitar around 8 or 9 years old, " and you know, basically just tortured everybody for two years, until I got a few chords right"!

While growing up in Florida, B.James was exposed to so many different genres of music; he soaked it up like the local beach sun you might say, so it's no small wonder that later on, his chief pursuit was to be a Professional Studio Musician.
to wit: Working in the musical epicenter known as Music City , on any given day you can be called upon in the recording studio to play a multi faceted variety of styles, depending on what the artist ,producer or songwriter envision, and hear in their head.

"My first real ,what I would deem as "professional" job, came to be when the now world famous super group The Oak Ridge Boys, offered me the spot as their road/touring guitarist. I saw a lot of the globe with the Oaks,& it was incredible fun, & with such a great group of guys". During his decade plus of consecutive touring years, B.James also toured with Donny & Marie Osmond, Rosanne Cash, Vince Gill & a host of other "you never heard of 'em's !!".

His creative intuition, & ultimately his vocational calling helped B.James develop a philosophy, that he embodies in his work to this day. "I knew I had to challenge myself to evolve into something other than just another 'dude who can play a guitar real good'. It's not enough".

The skill set to be a first call studio musician is very different from the reps' of touring work, which essentially is playing the same songs you know by memory & repetition every night, though I'm not suggesting that just anyone can do that, they can't. You have to be very talented & disciplined to play those same songs, the same way, or close, every performance, show after show...but you DO know what's coming. At the Studio Musician level, you CREATE almost everything from the ground up.

One of the greatest benefits I receive personally, is that practically everyday, I work side by side as part of a team with some of the most gifted and brilliant musicians anywhere in the world, who can play practically any feel, or style of music, and combined with the right song & artist relationship, it usually translates into great music, which a good part of the public get the opportunity to hear & enjoy!

His guitarist influences span multiple genres: Rock guitarists Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin); Hendrix ; David Gilmore (Pink Floyd) ; Beatle George Harrison; Lindsey Buckingham (Fleetwood Mac) ; Eddie Van Halen; Funk masters Jimmy Nolen (James Brown) & Curtis Mayfield; James Taylor; country legends Chet Atkins, & Jerry Reed ; & jazz & studio great, Larry Carlton. The Motown Artists, Doobie Brothers, The Average White Band & Earth, Wind & Fire, were also big influences. "Just incredible music, with the timeless song craftsmanship, musicianship, vocals & production," B.James notes.
